DCNR- I'm in the military stationed in Alabama with an out of state driver's license. How can I purchase a license?
Example: I am an Active a Duty military member who is stationed in Alabama. I have a Florida drivers license. How can I purchase a Resident Hunting license online? If I put Florida as my state of residency, then he system won't allow me to purchase a Resident license. If I put Alabama, then the system wants a valid Alabama drivers license.
Step-by-step guide
- All military members with out of state driver's licenses must purchase a hunting or fishing license in person. You can purchase a license at the following locations:
- your local probate office
- Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources License Commissioner's office
MILITARY PERSONNEL, including spouse and dependents living with them:
Receive resident license privileges with copy of orders assigning them to Alabama and a military ID card.
Are not required to present Alabama Driver’s License.
Must present a valid U.S. driver’s license; otherwise, the license must be purchased at a Probate or License Commissioner’s office.
If assigned to another state (GA, FL, etc.) but living in Alabama, may apply for resident privileges after 90 days and using the same evidence of residency as a nondriver.
